UML Vice-Chairman Bishnu Poudel has said that different views will be allowed to be expressed in the general convention. He said that the focus will be on leadership as the statutory convention held in the third week of Bhadra passed policies and procedures.

"The two general conventions are the policy and procedure convention, and the 11th general convention is the leadership-building convention. Reports are presented at the general convention. We have not said that anyone can't speak if they feel something. We have not said to tape their mouths," he said at a program organized on Wednesday.

Claiming that sufficient discussions have been held in the party and conclusions have been reached, Poudel said that there will be an agreement on these issues. "The chairman said that he won't let me speak, I don't see much relevance in the comment that I will only speak," he said, defending Oli's statement. A few days ago, Oli had said, "There will be no discussion at this year's general convention, it will end after I speak."
