Birendra Basnet, founder and central member of the Entrepreneurial and Dynamic Democratic Party (GALOP), has said that he did not enter politics due to the Gen-G movement and his desire to do so.
Saying that he has launched a political party for the happiness and prosperity of future generations, he said that he did not enter politics to light his stove at home.
At a program organized by Galopa in Pokhara, Kaski on Tuesday to discuss the tourism of Pokhara, Basnet said that he has come forward for the economic progress of the country by forming a party. 'We did not enter politics because of Gen-G. We did not enter politics out of desire,' Basnet said, 'Let us understand why 45 people were martyred in the Gen-G movement. It is time to forget the sacrifice of Gen-G. Now politics has begun.'
Basnet says that political parties are now starting to do politics by forgetting the sacrifice of Gen-G. He said that the electoral politics that new and old politics should be reconciled, and an alliance should be formed has begun. 'I did not enter politics to light my stove at home,' he said.
Basnet also says that politics is not an alternative. While the newly formed parties are now saying that they will do alternative politics, Basnet said that they are not doing alternative politics but are doing politics to run the state. 'I have entered politics by force. I did not enter politics out of desire, I entered politics at the age of 62. Now some changes need to be made in the nation,' he said.
Basnet says that the dynamic party is talking about tourism in Pokhara, airport in Bhairahawa and agriculture in Koshi Province. Since the country is a federal system, he believes that the agenda of political parties should also be decentralized. 'I am struggling to live a comfortable life, we have come into politics for the sake of our children and grandchildren,' he said. He also said that the Gen-G movement on Bhadra 23 and 24 was due to unemployment.
Basnet says that Galopa will advance the agenda to create jobs for the youth in the country and to transform the economy and promote equitable entrepreneurship. He said that the party is going to do politics for employment, poverty alleviation, and good governance.
