On the government side, the National Institute of Medical Sciences (Bir Hospital) has received the highest quota of 245 seats.
The Medical Education Commission has determined seats for postgraduate level medical education (PG/MD, MS, Nursing) and other subjects.
According to the commission, 2,030 seats have been allocated for the upcoming academic session. Of which, government medical colleges have got 1,031 seats, while private colleges have got 999 seats. 18 government and 27 private medical colleges across the country are offering PG level education. The commission has stated that some seats have increased in government colleges and some seats have decreased in private colleges compared to last year.
The National Institute of Medical Sciences (Bir Hospital) has got the highest quota of 245 seats on the government side. BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences Dharan has got 204 seats. The Faculty of Health Sciences of Sudurpaschim University, which is starting medical education, has got two seats. Tribhuvan University's Ayurveda Campus has got 4 seats. Maharajgunj Campus (Teaching Hospital) has got 118 seats.
Similarly, Medical Science under Kathmandu University has got the highest number of seats on the private side. According to the commission, 127 seats have been allocated there. Chitwan Medical College has got 89 and National Medical College Birgunj has got 81 seats.
