Police have arrested a banking crime convict who escaped from the Central Jail, Sundhara, Kathmandu, taking advantage of the Gen-G movement. The accused has been identified as 44-year-old Sita Khatri of Banke Kohalpur Municipality-12.
Khatri, who is yet to serve a 4-year prison sentence in a banking offence case, has been arrested and kept under prison security guard for necessary action, said District Police Office, Bardiya Inspector Prakash Singh Karki.
Similarly, the defendant who was sentenced to 13 days in prison in a drug case on 27th Magh, 2081, has been arrested by the District Court, Bardiya. 28-year-old Ghanshyam Khatri of the same place has been arrested. Similarly, the police have also arrested 32-year-old Ankit Chaudhary alias Bansa of the same place. The District Court, Bardiya, had sentenced him to 6 months in prison by the 27th Mangsir verdict of 2081. Karki said that Khatri and Chaudhary have been handed over to the District Court for necessary action.
