The decision of the Commission of Inquiry not to allow Hutaraj Thapa, the then head of the National Investigation Department, to leave the Valley has been reversed.

The High-Level Inquiry Commission, formed to investigate the state's repression of the Gen-G movement, had banned him from leaving the valley on 12 Asoj. He was also banned from traveling abroad.

However, the ban on him was lifted on 15 Mangsir. The commission said that the ban was lifted after recording his statement. The ban on Nepal Police Inspector General (IGP) Chandrakuber Khapung is still in place.
