The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Portugal has raised funds to send the body of Sanjay Tamang of Makawanpur to Nepal on Friday. He died on November 9 during treatment at a local hospital.
According to NRNA Portugal President Bam Bahadur GC, the body of Tamang from Manahari-4, Makawanpur was sent to Kathmandu via Doha via Qatar Airways. Three thousand nine hundred euros (about 645 thousand rupees) have been spent to send the body.
To send the body, three thousand eight hundred fifty euros were collected from the Tamang community, Portugal and the relatives of the deceased, and 257 euros from NRNA Portugal. It has been stated that 207 euros that were saved from sending the body have been handed over to the family. The association has thanked NRNA Secretary Arjun Bhandari for his continuous support and coordination in sending the body.
