Prime Minister tells RPP: Implement your agenda with the approval of the people

What you should know

Prime Minister Sushila Karki has advised the RPP leaders who came to submit their memorandum to implement their agenda after getting the approval of the people.

She told the leaders of the RPP led by Chairman Rajendra Lingden that the Prime Minister should move forward by handling new problems instead of creating new ones.

Leaders including RPP Chairman Lingden had reached Baluwatar on Saturday evening to meet Prime Minister Karki. During the meeting, RPP Chairman Lingden had said that the government was not formed just to hold the 2084 elections in 2082. He had demanded that an all-party meeting of former King Gyanendra Shah, political parties, Gen-G and other stakeholders be convened, saying that the election problem had not been resolved and that a long-term solution be given to the country.

In response, Prime Minister Karki had suggested that she go to the people with her agenda and implement it after getting approval. According to the Prime Minister's Press Coordinator Ram Rawal, Prime Minister Karki had said that the country should not face further problems and losses.

'We should all be united on national issues. We have had many fights.' We have suffered a lot of losses. We have lost a lot. Let's take care of what has happened now. Let's not create new problems, but move forward with restraint. If there are disagreements, let's go to the people with their votes. Let's implement our agenda after getting the approval of the people in the elections,' the Prime Minister had said, 'We should be alert to possible instability.'

There are no relatives or strangers here for me and this government. We do not discriminate for any reason. We respectfully accept the suggestions given by you and anyone else.'

Prime Minister Karki had also told the RPP leaders that many pending cases of corruption have been moved forward. 'We will not remain silent on this matter either.' Many are trying to spoil the atmosphere of the country. If they are not taken action, this country will never rise,' the Prime Minister had said, 'It is not good to encourage impunity. It should not happen this time. Innocent children have been killed even while walking on the streets. Whatever recommendations come in the report of the investigation commission on this matter will be implemented.'

Prime Minister Karki had also said that she was going to control the tendency to spend money in elections. She had also urged the RPP to move forward in a frugal manner for a fair election. Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal and top leaders of the RPP were present in the meeting.
