Nepal has been awarded the 'Best Adventure Tourism Destination of the Year' by the India International Travel Mart (IITM) held in Pune, India.

Nepal was presented with this prestigious award at the IITM-Pune 2025 Awards Night held from November 27 to 29. The award was received by Board Member Narendra Bhatta on behalf of the Nepal Tourism Board.

During the ‘Destination Presentation’ session of the ceremony, Robin Regmi, Senior Officer of the Board, gave an impressive audio-visual presentation covering the various tourism attractions of Nepal. Attractions such as the Buddha Circuit, Ramayana Circuit, international eco-trails, UNESCO-listed heritage sites, spiritual pilgrimages, world-class trekking and mountaineering opportunities, and exciting adventure sports were the main themes of the presentation.

Senior Officer Regmi said that the active participation of the Nepal Tourism Board in IITM Pune 2025 has further strengthened its relationship with the Indian tourism market and contributed to establishing Nepal as a country that offers ‘all-season destinations’ and ‘lifetime experiences’.

The Nepal Tourism Board, in collaboration with 15 major travel trade companies, effectively presented Nepal's unique tourism packages and attractions to Indian travel agents and promoters at the event. The board said that hundreds of representatives and tourism agents from different countries of the world actively participated in the three-day travel mart.

The board appreciates that the Nepal Pavilion at IITM has served as an effective platform to showcase Nepal's cultural heritage, adventure destinations and hospitality.

According to Deepak Raj Joshi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nepal Tourism Board, the successful participation of the board and its partners in IITM Pune 2025 has further increased the interest and demand for Nepal in the Indian market. 

He expressed his belief that the board's continued active participation in such international forums will further strengthen Nepal as a primary destination for Indian tourists.
