The Nepali Congress Working Committee meeting, which was called for Sunday, has been postponed to Monday after a disagreement over the general convention dispute.
President Sher Bahadur Deuba had instructed acting president Purna Bahadur Khadka to come up with an agenda while being flexible to hold the 15th general convention before the election.
However, after establishment leaders Bimalendra Nidhi and Krishna Prasad Sitaula challenged the president's proposal to hold the general convention before the election, Khadka postponed the meeting for another day to try to reach a consensus, a central member said. Khadka had earlier responded on social media that he would continue to postpone the meeting until an agreement was reached.
