The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has grounded two pilots of Nepal Airlines for violating flight operation rules.

The Flight Operations Division of the Authority wrote to the Corporation on Friday, saying that both pilots, Captain Vijay Lama and Soni Rana of the Corporation's widebody, have been rostered off until further notice for violating flight safety operation rules by taking photos/videography on a flight.

Two pilots of the corporation are grounded for taking photographs in flight. The directive signed by the Corporation's Flight Operations Division Chief Pilot Sangam Karki has stated that both pilots should not participate in active flight duties until further notice. Nepal's aviation rules consider the activities of both pilots to be against the prevailing safety rules. This is the fourth time that the Authority has taken action against Captain Lama, who is also a YouTuber currently working under contract at the Corporation, on this charge.

Captain Lama, who was grounded on a similar charge 18 months ago, apologized and the action was lifted. The Authority has stated that it will investigate the complaint that Captain Lama also videographed the aircraft's takeoff/landing.
