Discussions are ongoing between Prime Minister Sushila Karki and leaders including UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel. The discussions are taking place at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar.

UML Deputy Secretary General Pradeep Gyawali and former Chief Whip of the UML Parliamentary Party in the dissolved House of Representatives Mahesh Bartaula are participating in the discussion. According to Baluwatar sources, Minister for Communications Jagdish Kharel is also with the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Karki has started talks with the UML for the first time with the parties. UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and General Secretary Shankar Pokharel had expressed dissatisfaction saying that the government did not hold talks with their party.
