Three members removed from the Prime Minister's Secretariat have said they were removed after they demanded the resignation of Personal Secretary Adarsh Shrestha.

Youth and social development expert Pradeep Gyawali, information technology and communication expert Arun Katuwal, and personal branch officer Akriti Ghimire have issued a statement saying that the appointments of three people were cancelled in retaliation. The statement said that Prime Minister Sushila Karki was besieged by Chief Personal Secretary Adarsh Kumar Shrestha and took revenge against them.

Shrestha was criticized for appointing relatives including his wife to the Prime Minister's Secretariat. After that, the Prime Minister's Office issued a statement defending Shrestha. They said that they objected to that statement.

'After another statement published on the letterhead of the personal secretariat in the form of clarification came, we objected to it,' the statement said, 'The Gen-G movement of Bhadra 23 was against all kinds of corruption. Being at the forefront of the Gen-G movement, we also raised slogans against moral corruption, nepotism, and favoritism. Therefore, during the operation of this transitional government formed after the Gen-G movement, there was no way we would support the appointment that promoted nepotism and favoritism, which is contrary to the spirit of the movement. We both criticized and opposed it.'

They have said that they are still in favor of Shrestha's resignation or dismissal from the Prime Minister's post. 'Press Advisor Ram Rawal should also be held accountable for the fact that the letterhead of the Prime Minister's personal secretariat was released to institutionalize nepotism in a way that also promotes the wrongdoings of Adarsh Kumar Shrestha,' the statement said. 'The Honorable Prime Minister must free himself from the clutches of vested interests and work courageously to lead the country towards a new path.'
