The Nepali Consulate General in Hong Kong has stated that it has not received any reports of any Nepalis being involved in the arson incident.

“The Consulate General is in constant contact with the Hong Kong Police and government officials to obtain necessary information about the incident. No Nepali citizen has been reported injured in the incident so far,” the statement issued by the Consulate General of Nepal, Hong Kong said. 

The Consulate General has expressed its deep sorrow over the loss of life and property in the incident. It also wishes for the speedy recovery of the injured and the eternal peace of the deceased. 

A total of 55 people have died in the fire that broke out in seven residential buildings under Wang Food Court in Hong Kong’s Tai Pei district since yesterday. 

Firefighters have extinguished the fire in six apartments. The fire is still burning in one house.
