595 people arrested for crimes related to Bhadra 23 and 24 incidents: Home Minister

Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has informed that 595 people involved in crimes related to the incidents of Bhadau 23 and 24 have been arrested. Minister Aryal gave this information at a meeting of the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee of the National Assembly on Thursday.

Minister Aryal said that cases are being filed to arrest those involved in crimes under the guise of the Gen-G movement. 'A total of 595 people involved in crimes related to the incidents of Bhadra 23 and 24 have been arrested and 283 people have been registered for various offenses,' Minister Aryal said.

Home Minister Aryal informed that joint efforts are being made to bring back weapons looted from various security agencies of the country during the Gen-G movement. 'All security agencies have exchanged information and made an action plan to bring back weapons and ammunition lost from security agencies in various parts of the country during the protests by the Gen-G youth generation and have directed the District Security Committee to jointly conduct an effective security operation,' he said. 'So far, 723 weapons have been brought back.' Of the 14,554 prisoners who escaped from prisons and detention centers during the Gen-G movement, 9,697 have been brought back.'

Home Minister Aryal also informed that a special operation has been launched to arrest prisoners who have escaped from prison and not returned.'
