In today's debate, the Supreme Court will decide whether to issue an interim order or not.
The writ petition filed by Hitendra Dev Shakya, former Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, challenging the government's decision has been scheduled for presentation in the Supreme Court before a bench of Justices Manoj Sharma and Til Prasad Shrestha.
The cabinet meeting had removed him from the Nepal Electricity Authority and transferred him to the Secretariat of the Water and Energy Commission by creating a special post.
Shakya had filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court demanding that his post should remain in the authority. The second hearing is scheduled to be held today. Earlier, the Supreme Court had issued a show cause order and ordered to call him for discussion.
The Supreme Court will decide whether to issue an interim order in the debate to be held on Tuesday. If the Supreme Court issues an interim order, he will return to the authority. The government had transferred Shakya and made Manoj Silwal the executive director. The government had removed Shakya after Kulman Ghising became the Minister of Energy.
Shakya had filed a writ petition against Ghising earlier too. Ghising had also filed a writ petition after the KP Sharma Oli government removed him and appointed Shakya.
