The Kathmandu Police Range has stated that on the day of the Gen-G movement on Bhadra 23, this group gathered at a tea shop and went on a protest by setting off bullet bikes.

The police have concluded that apart from Tenzin Dawa Lama of the TOB group, who is accused of inciting the situation by riding his bike loudly during the protest on Bhadra 24, no one else has any connection to Tibet. According to Pawan Bhattarai, spokesperson for the District Police Range, Kathmandu, it appears to have been established as a bikers group on June 10, 2024.
‘It has 57 members, the logo was designed by Tenzin,’ he said at a press conference held on Monday. ‘It seems that its full form is The Original Brothers, but since Tenzin is of Tibetan origin, he has stated that he wrote Tibetan Original Blood on his jacket.’ Police have stated that all the other members of the group except him are Nepali citizens.
Police have also recovered six other jackets with Tibetan Original Blood written on them from Tenzin. ‘In the understanding of other people except Tenzin, TOB is The Original Brothers, it is also written on Facebook and Instagram,’ Bhattarai said, ‘But, from Bhattarai’s perspective, it appears to be Tibetan Original Blood.’
According to the police, Tenzin and other members have stated that they were influenced by a rapper named Surendra Gurung and wrote Hakim on their T-shirts. ‘The dragon represents a warrior going to war and the flower on it represents a peace-loving person, while the ruler represents a ruler, apart from this, the logo has no fundamental meaning,’ Bhattarai added.
The group had gathered at a tea shop
It is also seen that the group had consulted about participating in the movement a day before the Gen-G demonstration. It is found that Sonam Sherpa, in a notice on TOB’s Instagram account, asked to gather at a tea shop called ‘Chiya Basti’ near Gopikrishna Hall on the morning of 23 Bhadra. After that, the motorcycle riders in this group gathered at the same tea shop on 23 Bhadra and walked in a group.
‘It has been found that they reached the Bijuli Bazaar bridge in Baneshwor at around 12 noon and incited the crowd by blazing bikes and chanting slogans,’ Bhattarai said, ‘At that time, they were also found saying, ‘I want my country back, my country is my pride.’ He said that Tenzin was also found to have sustained injuries on his head that day.
During the investigation, the police had contacted 26 people who had gone to the protest and seized 13 bullets and a Pulsar motorcycle used by them. The motorcycles were handed over to the concerned persons in the presence of their guardians on Monday.
Three cases against Tenzin
It has also been revealed that the TOB group used to purchase T-shirts for Rs 700 and sell them to members for Rs 1,000. It has been found that they used to run the group with that profit.
‘This group usually goes on long-distance motorcycle trips outside the valley every six months, and within the valley, they usually travel on Saturdays,’ said Bhattarai.
After the video of him showing a pistol at Bijuli Bazaar went public, the police initially filed a case against him for indecent behavior. However, the police say that the video was not from the Gen-G movement, but from the making of a music video a few months ago. The administration had asked for a bail of Rs 7,500 for the crime of indecent behavior. He is also being investigated for crimes related to documents, citizenship and passports. The police have also recovered marijuana from him, so they are also investigating him for drug offenses.
