Talks are scheduled to be held between the police administration and Gen-G on Friday afternoon regarding the situation that arose from the clash between UML and Gen-G group in Simara, Bara, three days ago on Wednesday. According to Manish Sapkota, spokesperson of Jitpur Simara Sub-metropolitan City Gen-G Committee, the talks will be held in the presence and guidance of Gen-G leaders Sudhan Gurung, Purushottam Yadav and Shiva Yadav, he said.

He said that there is a possibility that Sports Minister Bablu Gupta may also come. ``But the minister is not sure to come, Sudhan Gurung, Purushottam Yadav and Shiva Yadav are sure to come. They are in Janakpur. They will arrive by 1 pm.''

Bara Chief District Officer Dharmendra Kumar Mishra also said that coordination is being done for the talks. He said, ``Initiatives and coordination are being done for the talks. The place has not been fixed. Discussions are being done.''

Gen-G group waiting for a leader

Simara's Gen-Gs are waiting for a leader. They have stopped the protest since 4:30 pm on Thursday. The Gen-G group says that they will not protest by blocking the highway on Friday. ``Internal discussions are going on since yesterday evening to decide what demands to put forward in the talks,'' Sapkota said, ``Who will sit in the talks and how many people will sit in the talks will be decided on the basis of coordination by the administration and on the basis of consensus.''

Prajikh Mishra had called the Gen-G group for talks on Thursday itself. But Gen-G was adamant that he would not hold talks or dialogue until the accused in the complaint was arrested.

Gen-G has arrested 6 people  According to the complaint filed against Kitani, the police have arrested 3 people, including 2 elected incumbent ward chairmen, on Thursday morning and 1 person at night. Deputy Superintendent of Police Vijayraj Pandit said that an investigation has been launched against them. All three of those arrested have been kept at the District Police Office Kalaiya. Arvind Sah was arrested from Hetauda on Thursday night.

Similarly, the police took Dhan Bahadur Shrestha and Kaimuddin Ansari, the elected ward chairmen of UML, into custody when they reached the Area Police Office Simara. According to the complaint, 3 people are yet to be arrested. The police say that they are also being searched for.

In Parwanipur on Wednesday  A clash broke out between the youth union workers after the Gen-G group started protesting in Simara targeting UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel and Politburo member Mahesh Basnet to address the Youth Awareness Campaign meeting.

Six youths from Gen-G were injured in the clash. The protest was led by Gen-G District Coordinator Samrat Upadhyay against the UML leader. Samrat himself had filed a complaint against six UML workers at the Area Police Office on behalf of the injured.

Simara, which has been in turmoil for two days, is calm on Friday. There are no protests, clashes or curfews. However, security personnel are deployed in Simara. The first day was tense due to the clash on Wednesday. Protesters vandalized Simara Airport and set fire to the highway and blocked the highway. The airport has been operational since Thursday.
