He had been on a hunger strike with four demands, including action against the then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, and fulfilling the demands of the families of the martyrs and injured of the Gen-G movement.

The Ministry's Deputy Secretary Ravindra Acharya and the Home Minister's Personal Secretary Dhiraj Joshi had reached Maitighar with a letter written by the Home Ministry's Branch Officer Suman Bhattarai in Singh's name to break the hunger strike.

The letter states that the process of fulfilling Singh's demands by the relevant bodies has progressed and is in the final stage of completion.

Singh broke the hunger strike on Thursday evening after drinking juice from the hands of injured Gen-G activists Madan Karki and Vijesh Tamang. According to Singh, the hunger strike was broken at the request of the Prime Minister's Office, the Home Ministry, the District Administration Office and the consent of his injured friends.
