The Supreme Court has ordered the presence of medical practitioner Durga Prasai. A single bench of Justice Meghraj Pokharel ordered the presence of the accused.

Prasai's son Nirajan Prasai had filed a habeas corpus petition in the Supreme Court on Mangsir 3 demanding his release. Prasai is being investigated for a crime against public peace. Police arrested him from his residence in Thimi, Bhaktapur on Mangsir 1 after analyzing that he had made provocative statements after announcing the protest and that his actions could incite violence. He had been claiming to hold a nationwide protest since the 7th and to shut down all sectors, including transportation. He had also urged the NPL to be stopped.
