Only after 63 days of the protest, i.e. on Kartik 24, the Ministry of Health has approved the criteria for classifying the injured.

In which the severity of the injuries has been classified into 4 categories: very serious, serious, moderate and normal. According to the Ministry of Health, it will take another 10 days to decide who falls into this classification. The 2,572 people injured in the Gen-G protests on Bhadra 23 and 24 have been affected by this delay. Of those who were treated at 74 health institutions across the country, 11 are still undergoing treatment, while some of the injured are being rushed to hospitals for follow-up.

The criteria prepared by the Ministry of Health have been sent to the District Administration Office for classification through the Ministry of Home Affairs. According to the Ministry of Health, it will take another 10 days to get the classification from the district and then it will be sent to the Council of Ministers through the Ministry.

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr. Prakash Budhathoki said that the file was signed by the Health Minister on the same day the classification procedure was made, and that the file was sent to the Home Ministry. 'Once the details including classification are received from the districts, the Health Ministry will verify it and proceed with the process.'

Shankarihari Acharya, Joint Secretary of the Home Ministry, said that a circular has been issued to the concerned district administration to complete all the classification-related processes within seven days and send the file to the Health Ministry.
