37 Nepalis stranded in Myanmar return home

After arranging to return home via Thailand, the Nepali Embassy in Bangkok coordinated and provided assistance to the relevant agencies and sent them back to Nepal via Nepal Airlines, the embassy said.

37 Nepalis who were lured to Myanmar under the lure of lucrative jobs have been rescued. According to the Nepali Embassy in Bangkok, they were recruited into online scamming centers in Myanmar for various online dating, online casino, gaming and phishing, crypto fraud, etc.

 Similarly, those who escaped and entered Thailand during the raid by Myanmar security personnel on October 19 have also been sent back, the embassy said. All of them were returned to Nepal on Wednesday via Nepal Airlines flight no. RA 402, the embassy said. 

Similarly, the embassy said that efforts are being made to repatriate 23 more Nepalis in Myawaddy, Myanmar, 2 in Mysore, Thailand, and 4 in Cambodia. 

The Nepali Embassy in Bangkok has urged everyone to go for foreign employment only after obtaining a labor permit as per the criteria set by the Nepalese government.

Similarly, the embassy also urges people not to be tempted by someone and come for foreign employment under the pretext of visiting countries like Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar,  Thailand under the guise of earning a lot of money quickly.
