The government has decided to recommend an ordinance to President Ram Chandra Poudel to amend the Nepal Special Services Act, 2042. The Council of Ministers meeting on Tuesday recommended an ordinance to amend the Special Services Act related to the Investigation Department.

Government spokesperson and Minister for Communications Jagdish Kharel said, 'It has been decided to recommend to the President to issue an ordinance to amend the Nepal Special Services Act, 2042.'

The Investigation Department was taken under the Prime Minister from the Home Ministry by the then government led by KP Sharma Oli. The act is now being amended to bring the department under the Home Ministry.
