Durga Prasai, who was arrested from Bhaktapur on Monday night, will remain in custody for 4 days. The Kathmandu District Administration Office has granted permission to keep him in custody for investigation into charges against public peace.

‘Now, the process of questioning and further investigation will proceed after keeping him in custody,’ said Kathmandu Police Chief SSP Ramesh Thapa. Prasai had been saying since 7 Mangsir that he would start a movement to restore the monarchy and Hindu nation by shutting down the country.’

The security apparatus had taken notice of his recent statement that he could bomb embassies by naming them and blaming them.

The issue of bringing him under the ambit of action was also raised in the Central Security Committee meeting held on Sunday. The meeting then decided to take strict legal action against those who incite violence and terrorize the people.

*Earlier, permission should have been given by the Kathmandu District Administration, but it has been corrected to be in the District Court. -Editor
