The ambassadors are currently appearing abroad. According to advocate Silwal, a contempt of court petition has been registered and the first presentation of the petition has been scheduled for November 20. The petition demands punishment for the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This is the first contempt petition against Karki, who is also a former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

The court had issued an interim order on October 16, but on October 17, it had written to the ambassadors to return and appear at the ministry, violating the order. A joint bench of Justices Saranga Subedi and Shrikant Poudel had issued an interim order on October 16 not to implement the decision to recall the ambassadors.
The Karki-led interim government recalled 11 ambassadors and asked them to appear at the ministry on October 30, but four of the ambassadors who were recalled have resigned, saying they do not see the need to continue in their posts. Two are not in contact with the foreign ministry, while the remaining five ambassadors also leave after registering their presence in the booklet kept in the ‘Ambassadors Room’ of the foreign ministry.
The elected government has been widely criticized for maintaining a foreign policy without an ambassador and for not even appointing a foreign minister.
