The Election Commission has called for registration of political parties wishing to participate in the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives and the National Assembly. The Commission issued a notice today, stating that party registration has been opened from Mangsir 1-10 for the House of Representatives and from Mangsir 1-7 for the National Assembly.
The Commission's notice states, 'Parties wishing to participate in the elections are requested to submit an application to the Commission along with a copy of the decision taken by the central committee, annual audit report and other necessary documents.'
The Commission has stated that if two or more parties wish to participate in the House of Representatives elections using the same election symbol, they should also submit information about it along with the application. The notice states, 'You are requested to submit the party's statute, rules and manifesto, a sample of the election symbol and an electronic copy of it.'
Elections have been scheduled for Magh 11 for the one-third members of the National Assembly that will be vacant from Falgun 20 and for the members of the House of Representatives on Falgun 21.
