The Portuguese government has decided to suspend all types of worker visas except for highly skilled ones.
According to a press release issued by the Nepali Embassy in Lisbon, the issuance of work visas has been stopped with effect from October 23.
The embassy has requested everyone to be careful, saying that fraud groups from Nepal and Middle Eastern countries may be active in Portugal by showing employment opportunities.
The embassy said, "Information has been received that attempts are being made to lure Nepalis to get jobs in Portugal even after the decision to not issue work visas."
The embassy has urged everyone not to be misled by anyone, to stay away from such illegal activities and to adopt necessary precautions.
