A bulldozer was used on a structure built by former Minister Deepak Khadka by grabbing Scout's land.

Khadka Land had encroached on about 12 ropanis of land, including a party palace and restaurant, despite renting three ropanis of land from Scout. After the party did not pay the rent as per the agreement despite repeated notices from the court and Scout, a bulldozer was used on the physical infrastructure of Khadka Land. In the meantime, a team including Sports Minister Bablu Gupta had reached Lainchaur.

A bulldozer was used on a structure built by former Minister Deepak Khadka by grabbing Scout's land.

Khadka Land Development Pvt. Ltd., owned by former Energy Minister and Congress leader Deepak Khadka, has begun demolishing structures built on Scout's land in Lainchaur, Kathmandu.

The company had built structures on leased land and operated an office, but had not paid regular rent for a long time. Despite repeated court cases and orders, Khadka had been violating the court order.

Last Thursday, Scout issued a public notice stating that the structures would be confiscated if the rent was not collected within a week. After the rent was not collected even during this period, on Thursday, the dozer was used on the physical structures built by Khadka. The structures built by Khadka Land Pvt. Ltd. are currently being demolished by the dozer.

A team including Youth and Sports Minister Bablu Gupta had reached the site during the demolition of these structures, and security arrangements have been tightened around them.

The Pvt. Ltd. had leased three ropanis of land in the premises of Scout's central office in Lainchaur. But the lease agreement between Scout and Khadka Land expired in 2075. Leader Khadka had not agreed to vacate the land since then, using his political power. He had even been squatting without paying the land rent.

Although the company had leased three ropanis of land, the company had been encroaching on about 12 ropanis of land and was using it. After the land rent was not paid on time, the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, sealed the land and the buildings and structures built there on April 20, 2002.

Even after the sealing, Khadka Land Pvt. Ltd. filed a case instead of paying the rent and repeatedly withdrew the case and did not pay the rent, Scout stated that irreparable damage had been caused. Khadka had constructed a building on the said land and was operating a party palace, hotel and restaurant. Following the court order, Scout had issued a 35-day notice in the name of the Pvt. Ltd. on 28 Mangsir 2079 BS, requesting it to vacate the land.

Since the structure was being forcibly removed without paying the remaining accounts and books, in defiance of the decision of the Honorable Patan High Court and repeated correspondences regarding the need to vacate the place during that period, the Pvt. Ltd. was prohibited from entering the contracted area until the entire rent due to Nepal Scout was paid. The structure, whose contract period had expired, was sealed for the time being and the remaining arrears were recovered and the property was vacated by issuing a deed from the District Administration Office in accordance with the Local Administration Act, 2082 BS.

After Khadka Land did not pay the rent despite the court order and repeated notices, the administration used a dozer on the structure.
