Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari has said that there is no other option than holding the House of Representatives elections on Falgun 21.

Acting Chief Election Commissioner Bhandari informed that the Election Commission has been preparing for the election since President Ram Chandra Poudel announced it for Falgun 21 on the recommendation of the interim government.

Acting Chief Election Commissioner Bhandari said in a meeting of the Federalism Strengthening and National Concerns Committee under the National Assembly on Friday that the election should be held now that it has been announced. Bhandari also said that the commission has completed more than 60 percent of the preparation work for the election. He said that 60 percent of the work required for the election has been completed because the commission trusts the government and the government trusts the commission.

Bhandari said that the old and new forces should not adopt a policy of prohibiting each other in the election. He said that the election to the House of Representatives must be held to maintain good governance and peace. Bhandari also said that the government has the task of ensuring peace and security for the election to the House of Representatives and ensuring resources for the Commission. 'The government should ensure that no one has to go to the polling station with a sense of insecurity.'
