The reconstruction of the police building at the New Bus Park, which was set on fire during the Gen-G demonstration, has been completed and handed over.

During the Gen-G demonstration, 193 police offices in the valley were damaged. Of these, 180 buildings have been reconstructed.

At the building handover program organized on Friday, Additional Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki, Chief of the Kathmandu Valley Police Office Ranipokhari, said that the police would try to fulfill the expectations of the Gen-G movement as it is the expectation of the general public. Karki said that the role of the police along with the citizens is indispensable for the security of the area as the Gongabu and Naya Bus Park areas are very sensitive areas from a security perspective, adding, "Eight to 10 thousand people commute to and from the Gongabu area daily, and the responsibility of protecting every citizen lies with the state and Nepal Police."

Tokha Municipality Mayor Prakash Adhikari said that the construction of the police building from the community level has confirmed the relevance of the police towards the society. Various organizations that supported the reconstruction of the building of the Police Division Naya Bus Park were honored at the program.
