A gunshot was fired at the premises of Hotel Nirvana Luxury International in Bhairahawa, Rupandehi, on Monday night. One person was injured in the gunfire that broke out at the hotel premises in the middle of the night, according to the district police.
DSP Suraj Karki, spokesperson of the District Police Office, informed that the shooting took place during a fight between two groups at night. Karki said that the police reached the spot immediately after the incident, but no bullet casing was found.
According to the police, 27-year-old Min Bahadur Pariyar, a security guard at the hotel, was injured in the shooting. He was shot in the thigh, according to the police. Pariyar is a resident of Butwal Sub-metropolitan City-15. ‘We have started an investigation into the incident,’ Karki said, ‘Nothing further has been revealed.’
According to the police, the injured Pariyar was taken to Bhim Hospital in Bhairahawa for treatment at night. DSP Karki informed that Pariyar has been discharged after treatment.
According to the police, an argument was going on between some people in front of the hotel. In the meantime, when a group started entering the hotel, the security guards tried to stop it. The police have started a search for the person who opened fire by tightening the border area.
