Acting President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav has received a courtesy call from the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Nepal, Udo Eugen Volz. Ambassador Volz met with Vice President Yadav at the Vice President's office in Lainchaur on Monday.

The meeting discussed issues such as the long-term friendly relations, mutual cooperation, development partnership, investment, trade and tourism promotion between the two countries. Acting President Yadav expressed satisfaction with the mutual trust and cooperation that has existed between Nepal and Germany since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1958. He said that high-level visits, development partnership, people-to-people relations, investment and tourism sectors have been the cornerstones of the relations between the two countries.

Stating that the Federal Republic of Germany is one of Nepal's major development and trade partners, Acting President Yadav expressed gratitude for the German cooperation that has been received since 1961. He praised the role played by Germany in multilateral forums on international issues such as climate change and expressed confidence that cooperation on issues of mutual interest will continue in the future.

Ambassador Volz stated that Nepal-Germany relations are very close and strong and expressed Germany's commitment to the Government of Nepal.
