Five Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) of Nepal Police have been promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGs). SSPs Bhupendra Khatri, Sanuram Bhattarai, Om Adhikari, Shekhar Khanal and Abinarayan Khatri were promoted to DIGs on Monday.

Khatri, who has been promoted, has been posted to the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), Bhattarai to the Criminal Investigation Department, Adhikari to the Valley Police Office, Ranipokhari, Khanal to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, and Kafle to the Inspector General of Police Secretariat.

A week ago, a meeting of the promotion committee headed by the Home Secretary had recommended them for promotion to DIG.
