Two-way traffic operation on Daunne road section

The Daunne road section of the East-West Highway has been repaired and two-way traffic has been operating for some time now. According to Police Inspector Thaman Sinharana of the Area Police Office, Dumkibas, the Daunne road section, which is frequently blocked due to muddy conditions due to normal rainfall, has been graveled and two-way traffic has been operating for some time now.

Vehicles coming from Butwal to Narayangadh are moving smoothly. Arrangements have been made for vehicles going from Narayangadh to Butwal to be sent in turns.

As the highway becomes slippery again after normal rainfall, problems arise in coming and going. The highway has been made smooth by placing gravel on the unpaved road.

Out of 14 kilometers of the Daunne hill under the under-construction Butwal-Narayangadh road, 9 kilometers of the road area are potholes.

As the Chinese contractor company China State Engineering Corporation, which has taken over the construction of the highway, has not worked on Daunne, there are traffic jams for hours after normal rainfall. The rain has stopped in eastern Nawalparasi since 12 noon on Thursday.
