Khagendra Sunar, an accused in the electronic transaction case, has been ordered to be released on bail of Rs 50,000.

After Sunar's statement and detention hearing at the Kavrepalanchok District Court on Wednesday, a bench of Judge Nagendra Kalakheti ordered his release on bail of Rs 50,000.

Sunar was a fugitive defendant in the electronic transaction case based on a complaint by advocate Manisha Gautam, and his name was made public after he was recommended as a minister and an arrest warrant was issued after that.

The Kavre court had issued an arrest warrant to the Dailekh police on 5th Shrawan. Gautam had filed a case in Kavre under the Electronic Transaction Act with screenshots of the abuse she had received from Sunar.

Senior advocate Yadunath Khanal, advocate Mahendra Tamang, Chakraman Bishwakarma, Valmiki Auji, Narayan Budhaprithi, Ganesh Baraili and Ram Bahadur Mijar argued on behalf of Sunar. Associate Attorney Nishtha Karmacharya argued on behalf of the plaintiff.
