The Daunne road section, which was blocked since 3 am due to slippery conditions due to moderate rain, has been repaired and alternate traffic has resumed a while ago.

According to Police Inspector Thaman Singh Rana of the Area Police Office, Dumkibas, the Daunne road section, which was blocked due to mud due to normal rainfall, has been graveled and alternate traffic has been operated.

The highway was blocked due to vehicles going from Narayanghat to Butwal getting stuck in mud. Rana informed that vehicles coming from Butwal to Narayanghat have been coming for some time now and arrangements have been made for alternate traffic operation.

Rana said, 'Due to normal rainfall, the highway is slippery and there is a problem in coming and going. The highway has been made easier by placing gravel on the unpaved road.' Out of the 14 kilometers of the Daunne hill section under the Butwal-Narayanghat road under construction, 9 kilometers of the road section are in potholes.

The Chinese contractor company China State Engineering Corporation, which has taken over the construction of the highway, has been jamming Daunne for hours after normal rainfall. There has been moderate rainfall in eastern Nawalparasi since 2 am.
