Flights from Lukla to Ramechhap and Kathmandu suspended after helicopter crash in Lobuche

Lukla Airport has suspended regular flights to Ramechhap and Kathmandu after an Altitude Air helicopter crashed in Lobuche. Two rescue flights were conducted following the Altitude helicopter crash.

‘The weather here is starting to clear and turn bad at 9 am. That is why we have stopped flights until the weather improves. Regular flights and helicopter charter flights will resume as soon as the weather improves,’ Airport Chief Janish Rajbhandari told Kantipur.

Captain Khadka said: I am fine, no need to go to the hospital

According to Airport Chief Janish Rajbhandari, Captain Vivek Khadka, who was involved in the Altitude Air helicopter crash, has been rescued by a Kailash Air helicopter based in Lukla and brought to Lukla Airport.

‘Captain Vivek Khadka has arrived in Lukla. He is walking on the helipad. He has said he does not need to go to the hospital. His health is fine,’ Airport Chief Rajbhandari said.
