Chairman Gauri Bahadur Karki said that the commission has requested details for study after some people publicly raised questions about the grants given to some organizations that were active in the protests and demonstrations on 23 and 24 Bhadra. He said that the details of the assistance received from the council for a period of one year were requested for investigation, but there was no other purpose for it.
Karki said that the details of the assistance received from organizations across the country were not requested for a specific organization or place. The commission has stated that it has been requested to analyze whether foreign aid has been misused. Although the commission has requested details, the Social Welfare Council only keeps details of NGOs that are run with foreign aid. Since other details are available at the District Administration Office, the commission is prepared to request them from there as well.
