The Ministry of Home Affairs has recommended five SSPs for promotion to DIG. According to the recommendation list of the ministry's promotion committee secretariat, Bhupendra Khatri is at number one, Sanuram Bhattarai is at number two, Om Adhikari is at number three, Shekhar Khanal is at number four, and Abhinarayan Kafle is at number five.
But SSP Bishwa Adhikari, who was the chief of Kathmandu Police Range during the Gen-G agitation on Bhadra 23 and 24, has been left out of the promotion recommendation for the post of DIG.
Adhikari's name was not included in the list of recommendations for promotion from SSP to DIG. He was considered the top police officer among the promotion contenders.
Adhikari was also number one in the SSP promotion held on Baisakh 24, 2078.
After Adhikari's release, five SSPs were recommended for DIG.
