Prime Minister Sushila Karki is preparing to expand her cabinet for the third time. She has sent the names of four ministers to the President's Office, Sheetal Niwas, for their swearing-in.

Khagendra Sunar, who was recommended for the post of Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security, has been revealed to be a controversial figure. Sunar, who has been making controversial statements for Dalit rights and has been facing cases in both the Supreme Court and two district courts, is facing contempt cases. A contempt case is pending in the Supreme Court against him, while an arrest warrant has been issued by the Surkhet District Court and Kavre District Court for his involvement in a criminal case. Similarly, it has also been revealed that he made obscene and indecent comments on social media against a female advocate. Sunar, who was also a former Chief Justice and recommended as a member of the Cabinet of Prime Minister Karki, is facing a contempt case in the Supreme Court. A contempt case filed by advocate Manisha Gautam against Sunar is pending in the Supreme Court for abusing high court judges and vandalizing the court building. The Supreme Court has issued a show cause order in the case. Another case against Sunar is pending in the Kavre District Court. An arrest warrant has been issued against him by the District Court in a case related to electronic transactions. The District Court of Surkhet had issued an arrest warrant against Sunar. He has been arrested on the arrest warrant issued on Asad 21, 2081, and investigation and prosecution are yet to be conducted. The arrest warrant has been issued against Dr. Sojan Sapkota, the head of Mehelkuna Hospital in Gurbhakot Municipality-8, Surkhet, on charges of assault and vandalism of the hospital building. Sunar was going to take the case to the Supreme Court in the Nawaraj BK case and had also warned that he would set the Supreme Court on fire if the verdict in the case was not as he wanted. He had warned the Supreme Court that the Surkhet High Court should not uphold the case. Sunar has been criticized for repeatedly making personal accusations and spreading confusion. Sunar is a person who has come into public discussion after the murder of Nawaraj BK and others in Chaurjahari, Rukum Paschim.
