Since I belong to the Newa community, Mha: Puja is celebrated in our special way during Tihar. Mha: Puja means worship done to oneself. In our country, Mha: Puja is celebrated the day after Lakshmi Puja. We celebrate ‘Nhu Daya Bhintuna’ at this time of Tihar. I also put ice on it. I was probably 14/15 years old at that time. Now, I don't burst firecrackers.
I understand the impact of bursting firecrackers on the environment and animals. Now I don't even feel like bursting firecrackers. Dogs get scared when they burst firecrackers.
