Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa has presented the agenda for the party's 15th General Convention.

The four-year term of the current working committee elected by the 14th general convention of the Nepali Congress is ending in mid-Mansir.

General Secretary Thapa has submitted a proposal to the Central Work Performance Committee to hold the general convention from Mansir 27 to 29, 2082. His proposal will go to the Central Working Committee.

The issue of whether to hold a regular or special general convention within Mansir has increased the polarization between the establishment and other parties in the Nepali Congress .  After President Sher Bahadur Deuba gave the responsibility of acting president to Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka, members of the establishment side strongly criticized General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwaprakash Sharma in the central working committee meeting that began on Thursday, saying that there was no justification for the special general convention.
