17 congress delegates from other parties of Nepali Congress have demanded to call a special convention for change of policy and leadership. On Wednesday, while submitting a letter to the Acting Chairman Purna Bahadur Khadka, they welcomed Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba's address on Tuesday and demanded that if there is no regular convention within November, a special convention should be held.
In the demand letter submitted today, it has been demanded to make the party timely and strong by addressing the public expectations and the demands of the young generation expressed by the Gen-G movement of August 23-24. They have called for reforms in policies and structures to face contemporary challenges. In addition, they have demanded to reorganize the party with new leadership and united energy for the February 21 elections.
