The youth of the Gen-G group within the Nepali Congress have demanded to open the way for the new generation through constitutional amendment within the party.

In a statement signed by 19 youths from different communities of the seven provinces of the country, appealing to 'change all, let's change the country together', internal reforms and representation of the new generation are requested to be ensured within the Congress. It is said in the

statement, "Democratic system can bring changes in the lives of citizens, but for that, not only governance, but also the culture of self-discipline is necessary." The old trend cannot win the trust of the new generation, we want to break the old pattern and move forward with a new way of thinking.'

Gen-G group has expressed the opinion that the Congress should radically improve its structure and working style in order to establish good governance and control corruption. They have demanded the formation of an internal governance commission within the party, to evaluate the conduct of representatives, and to prepare clear standards for future representatives by reviewing past trends.

The party leadership has been requested to investigate the use of excessive force in the demonstration in New Baneshwar on August 23 and conduct a fair investigation, identify the culprits and take action in the subsequent incidents. They demand that whoever is involved in vandalism and arson in the demonstration on August 24 should be brought to justice.

Gen-G group is of the opinion that Congress should make a clear commitment against corruption and conduct a fair investigation in all its cases. They have also suggested that a regular or special convention should be held soon and the road map for moving forward from a traditional party to a party with modern thinking should be announced.
