District Public Prosecutor's Office Kathmandu has filed a supplementary case against former speaker and Maoist leader Mahara on charges of gold smuggling. According to Ramhari Kafle, the head of the District Public Prosecutor's Office, an indictment has been submitted to Mahara claiming imprisonment and fines. According to the court, the process of registering the case is going on.
Mahara was arrested on Sunday on charges of smuggling gold in collaboration with a Chinese organized gang. He was earlier acquitted in the gold smuggling case.
