The government has released the report of Tribhuvan University Land and Immovable Property Search Committee 2081 on Sunday.

Thursday's cabinet meeting decided to send the report to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology for implementation. Former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had hidden the report pointing out that hundreds of Ropani lands of the University had been encroached upon by Sahibwal since November 2081. 

The government led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal formed an inquiry committee under the coordination of former secretary Sharda Prasad Trital in May 2081. The investigation committee has revealed that about 2400 ropani land has been embezzled and encroached upon. The Land Investigation and Search Committee found out that about 1000 ropani of land around the university has been lost, 1000 ropani of land has been encroached on in other places and 400 ropani of land in Lubhu and Pulchok of Lalitpur have been out of use for years. In the

committee, former joint secretary Mahendra Kumar Thapa and Dr. Jankiballabh as an officer and expert in tertiary education. Premsagar Chapagai was a member. After Trital fell ill during the investigation, Thapa headed the committee and submitted the report.
