Numbur Himal, located within Solududhakunda municipality of Solukhumbu, has been opened for climbing.  The mountain, which was closed for climbing until now, has been opened after the initiative of the local government with the government of Nepal.

 Numbur Himal at the head of the famous religious and tourist tank Dudhkunda is open for climbing  Along with that, the climbing team has also reached there. The tourism department has already opened the 6 thousand 957 meters high mountain for climbing in the last financial year 2081/82.

Mountain Numbur, which is under the direct jurisdiction of Solududhakund municipality and borders with Ramechhap district, is open for climbing, so a climbing team including climbers from Poland, Australia and some countries has reached there for climbing, said Fuchiri Sherpa, a tourism businessman. The team will climb both Khatang Himal and Numbur Himal.

Khotang Himal has been climbed before but Numbur Himal has not yet been climbed, so the team is currently working on technical checks.  Namgel Jangbu Sherpa, Mayor of Solududhakund Municipality, said that since climbing the mountain itself is a risky task, it is recommended to climb without haste.

Mayor Sherpa insists that with the opening of mountain climbing, the municipality has taken another leap in the field of tourism. "Even mountains that have never been climbed are being climbed again and again, this will make another important contribution to the tourism sector of the municipality," said Mayor Sherpa.
