A group close to Nepal Vidyarthi Sangh, student organization of Nepali Congress, has approached the police with a complaint against Mayor Balen Shah of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and Sudan Gurung of We Nepal Group.
SP Pawan Bhattarai of Kathmandu Police confirmed that the youth along with Ashok Singh Bista of Navy Sangh had come with the complaint .
They came with a complaint saying that Balen and Sudan are responsible for the human and material damage caused by the Jen-G movement on August 23 and 24. The Navy said that such a complaint was not made on the basis of an institutional decision. Dujang Sherpa, president of the Navy Association, said, 'Even though the friends who bring the complaint are from the Navy Association, this is not an institutional complaint but a personal complaint.'
Earlier, the UML students organization Aneraswaviyu also reached the District Police Complex in Kathmandu with a complaint against Mayor Balen and Sudan. The police understood the complaint and sent it to the inquiry commission led by former judge Gauri Bahadur Karki. However, the Commission sent back the complaint saying that it is not within the jurisdiction of the Commission to carry out a detailed investigation into the criminal case.
