The committee investigating the incidents of August 23 and 24 has written a letter to the Nakhkhu prison, requesting detailed information about the prisoners who were released along with the chairman of the National Independent Party, Ravi Lamichhane. A letter has been written asking to provide the details on the basis on which he was released and if he absconded.

Similarly, the committee has written a letter asking the prison department and the Ministry of Home Affairs to provide the details of how many prisoners have been released from prisons across the country. Vigyanraj Sharma, spokesperson of the commission, said that letters have been written to prisons across the country with nails. He said that during the 23rd and 24th protests, how many prisoners escaped from which prisons and the events were also mentioned and a letter was written to send detailed information.

After the incident of 24 August, about 6 thousand prisoners are absconding and about 7 thousand prisoners have returned . Some of the prisoners were also serving sentences for serious crimes.
