By Thursday, more than 21,000 people have registered their names in the electoral roll collection campaign started by the Election Commission after the amendment of the law through the Ordinance. The commission is collecting the voter list by publishing a notice on 9 October.

By amending the Voters' List Act, the government has arranged for the collection of voters' lists even after the announcement of elections. The election of the House of Representatives has been announced on February 21.

After the government amended the legal provision that the voter list is not collected from the date of election announcement, the way to collect the voter list has been opened. According to that, the Commission has given the time till 30th of October to register the name in the voter list. Secretary of the Commission, Mahadev Panth, said that the voter list registration work is being done in the election offices across the country.

According to him, 21 thousand 647 voters have registered their names till Thursday evening. On the first day of the collection of the voter list, 8,000 people registered their names across the country. In the middle it was a farewell. Secretary Panth said that the order has increased since then. Citizens who have reached the age of 18 can register their names in the electoral roll. The Commission has provided the facility of applying through the

online process. After filling your personal details online, you have to go to the election office to take a photo and get your biometrics done. "Wherever they are. From there, the facility to register the name in the voter list has been given," Secretary Panth said, "There will be a facility to register online from anywhere. After filling the personal details online, there is a facility where you can go to the election office of the district where you are, take a photo and get your biometrics done.

He said that he does not have to go to his home district for this. Since there is only time till 30th of October to get the name registered in the voter's list, he requested to complete the registration within that period. The Commission will send it to the respective local levels to receive objections against the names collected by the specified date.

Only after the completion of the claim protest process, the names which are currently being compiled will be added to the final voter list. Secretary Panth said that the commission has given special importance and priority to the work of collecting the voter's list and has asked those who have qualified and those who have not been named to join this campaign.

The first and most important task for the election is the preparation of the voter list. The commission, which is preparing for the election, is working to correct it. The Commission has set a schedule for publishing the final voter list by making the list pure and genuine. According to the

commission, the number of people who have registered their names in the voter list is 181 million 68 thousand 230. There are 89 lakh 16 thousand 502 female voters, 92 lakh 51 thousand 541 male voters and 187 other voters. After adding the names that are currently being registered, the final voter list and number will be decided. At the time of the 2079 election, there were 1 crore 79 lakh 88 thousand 577 voters.

Commission's co-spokesperson and information officer Suman Ghimire says that the number of polling stations will also be determined by the number of additional voters. The commission has determined one polling station equal to one thousand voters. He said that if there are more than that number in a polling station, the polling station will also be reviewed accordingly. Currently, there are 22,227 polling stations in 10,892 polling stations across the country.
