Nine main highways in three provinces have been blocked due to landslides due to rains in different parts of the country.
According to the information provided by the police headquarters, nine highways in Koshi, Bagmati and Karnali provinces were blocked due to rain.
The Koshi highway at Varunkhola, Bhotkhola Rural Municipality Ward No. 4 of Sankhuwasabha and the Koshi Highway at Ekuwa, Makalu Rural Municipality, Ward No. 3 of the same district were blocked.
Similarly, Mechi Highway at Rajduwali, Ward No. 9 of Ilam Municipality of Ilam and Tamor Corridor at Navakhola, Ward No. 2 of Panchthar Tumbeva Rural Municipality of Panchthar were also blocked by the flood, Police Central Spokesperson, Deputy Inspector General of Police Vinod Ghimire informed.
Similarly, the Pasang Lhamu road section located in Gosaikund Rural Municipality Ward No. 2 of Rasuwa, the BP Highway located in Mamtikhola, Roshi Rural Municipality Ward No. 11 in Kavrepalanchok and the BP Highway located in Nepalthok, Sunkoshi Rural Municipality Ward No. 1 in Sindhuli have also been blocked.
Similarly, the Karnali Corridor at Kurilla, Ward No. 5 of Kharpunath Rural Municipality of Humla and the Karnali Corridor at Jugenikhola, Ward No. 8 of Pachaljharna Rural Municipality of Kalikot have also been completely blocked, police spokesperson Ghimire said.
Due to rain, Koshi Lokmarg located in Sangurigarhi Rural Municipality Ward No. 1 of Dhankuta, Kanti Lokpath Road located in Bhimfedi Rural Municipality Ward No. 8 Baguwakhola and Bakaiya Rural Municipality Ward No. 11 Ghatepakha of Makwanpur have been operating one-way.
